Dr. Henningsen
Dr. Henningsen is a Keota native who joined the KVC team in June 2024 after graduating with her DVM degree from Iowa State University. Having grown up on a farm and being an active member of FFA and 4H, she has a particular fondness for swine, large and small ruminants, and dogs. Dr. Henningsen is a member of the American Association of Swine Veterinarians, the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners, and the Iowa Veterinary Medical Center. She’s excited to be able to give back to the various organizations that helped make her the veterinarian she is today.
Dr. Henningsen met her husband, Derek while judging livestock events at ISU. Derek grew up with sheep and goats, nicely rounding out McKenna’s childhood experience with swine and cattle. The couple enjoys raising livestock for exhibitions and attending livestock shows. When she’s not working with animals, Dr. Henningsen loves hiking, traveling, reading a good book, and cheering on the Cyclones!
